What would be great for a Covid hybrid release? It's the 2nd best selling American film this year while less than a month in. The only way to say this isn't selling is to ignore a whole pandemic and compare it to pre-Covid numbers.

Thats because they released it to streaming on the same day.

Disney's decised they care way more about getting Disney+ subs than they do about supporting theaters.

While that likely is true with Covid and reckless people wanting to spread Covid still a bit of problem they were in real awkward spot.

Clearly, Disney owning a monopoly is bad. We should break Disney up and nationalize those properties so that the profits stay in the hands of the public instead.

I'm still thinking there are good chances that KillMonger comes back, if not in the movies, it will in the Wakanda series.

He's already been included in the What if Animated show, and its quite a *popular* villain, Marvel hardly let goes of them.

While rewatching Black Panther, it struck me that Nakia would fit better in the suit, Lupita Nyong'o not only has a better physique, but also is portayed more like an better fighter than Shuri. She's also would've been the Queen of Wakanda..

Anyways, all rumors point straight towards Letitia Wright to take on the mantle.

It would be weird if Killmonger comes back but not T’Challa.

So apparently they aren’t releasing Shang Chi on Disney Plus right away like they did with Black Widow

I’m still seeing it right when it comes out regardless

Since I first seen the What If animation last year, it just felt ugly. Why is toon shading the decision here? I'm gonna give it a chance, but probably 3 episodes max.

Ok so, I just realized Spider-Man TAS is on Disney+ and oh gosshh, my all time favorite spidey series, have been watching it all day, its kind of reviltalizing my interest in the character, and building up hype for when the trailer of No Way Home comes out.

And What If is almost here as well, can't believe how much cartoons I'll be watching these days.

It looks fine especially when you remember some of the more infamous animated marvel stuff.

I would like to see more live action comic book films where the villain is the protagonist and wins in the end with totally immoral methods. Venom and TSS are them being good guys.

The closest to this is IW where Thanos is clearly the protagonist and gets his way by the end of the film. Joker is in there too.

There are too many heroes, so there's no excuse. Their sacrifice will be worth it.

It not that it's among the worst looking Marvel animations, is that it was announced with a bunch of series as a bridge for Phase 4. One would expect a little more production value. But, alas.

Well I guess Wandavison and Loki needed the budget more.

First episode of What If... was good.

    Spoiler:
Basically just rehashing the first Captain America move with Carter as the lead and few little surprises sprinkled in (Steve as proto-Iron Man was pretty cool). Got kinda dumb at the end though with Red Skull summoning a giant octopus for some reason. I wish they'd gotten a little more experimental with it, but since it's the first episode I guess they just wanted to guide and introduce the audience to the concept of it. Hopefully future episodes will have more experimental and original storylines.

Personally, I think the animation is fine for what it needs to do, but I can see how it would turn some people off.

What I hoped wasn't going to be an issue for me, ended up being worse than the animation choice. It's the same gripe I have with Endgame. Recap with small room for creativity.

That is the point of Endgame, but it could've been done better.

    Spoiler:
    - Natasha and Clint trip: dope
    - Tony, Scott and Cap 1st trip: weak
    - Rhodey and Nebula trip: weak
    - Bruce trip: dope
    - Rocket and Thor trip: weak
    - Tony and Steve 2nd trip: dope

The problem is the creativity of where they revisit.

    - Showing me Natasha and Clint fight to sacrifice themselves is dope. It's creative and has purpose beyond "remember this place and what happen here last time"
    - Tony and Steve hitting up the base and seeing Howard n Peggy is creative. It foreshadows their decision making in the end.
    - Bruce talking to the Ancient One is dope cuz we see that she is also there for the 2012 invasion and it emphasizes how urgent it is to return the stones and Strange's decision to relinquish the time stone

    - Going back to Dark World was weak. I didn't get another perspective. Thor just found his resolve and they were done
    - Guardians 1 opening scene being revisited felt lazy. The only good was that Thanos picked up on Nebula's mission
    - Seeing Loki's escort team was basically, "hey this is what happen after Avengers 1". Oh God, this was lame. Cap vs Cap was dumb. "Hail HYDRA" by Cap felt forced in. Ton of tacky fanservice for Tony and Cap.

Now for this What If episode, I have the same issue.

    Spoiler:
It's just Peggy walking in Steve's shoes. Maybe it leads to something in the future, but for what it is, I felt like I was watching First Avenger. That is the intention, but they didn't lean in on there being a difference. Yes, she was a woman and Steve gets to be Iron Whatever, but what else? Isn't this What If. You have the greenlight to provide more imaginative alternatives and all I got was a Hydra and Scrawny Steve in the suit.

It doesn't help that First Avenger is in my bottom 5 MCU films. Decent film, but 1 of my fav Marvel villains was a letdown. Red Skull deserves better.

Great voice acting by Jeffrey. Wouldn't mind him getting a live action spot doing the same thing.

So, since I heard that Loki has a darker tone than average Marvel movies. I decided to watch the pilote. I love Owen Wilson.

Venom 2 has been officially moved from Sept. 24th to October 15th.

The delay comes as COVID-19 cases are skyrocketing in the U.S. due to the highly contagious delta variant. The surge has led to a decline in consumer confidence in returning to the movies. According to a recent survey conducted by the National Research Group, 67% of moviegoers say they’re “very or somewhat comfortable” visiting their local multiplex — which is a dip of 3% compared to last week, and down 14% from one month ago.

So Disney is going to use Shang-Chi as a guinea pig and have it be a theater-only release for the first 45 days, THEN make it available for streaming. But a lot of Marvel fans apparently don't want to risk going to the theater now that the COVID Delta-variant is on the rise:

I want to support Shang-Chi (Asian superheroes!), so I'll be going anyway. The way to do it is go at less crowded times (although how crowded would it be now?), and wear a double-mask. No eating popcorn, but I was never big on that anyway.
